Blue Ridge Relay Raises over $25,000

Lillie’s Friends Team participated in the Blue Ridge Relay September 5th and 6th and raised over $25,000!!  Lillie’s Friends Team consisting of 12 brave and dedicated members participated in The 208 Mile Blue Ridge Relay, which is one of the longest running relay races in the United States. The team members rotated running day and night to cover the 208-mile distance of the race. Our team was on the course approximately 30 hours. Our team will trained and work hard together to complete this grueling run through the mountains and valleys. While we did so, we were keenly aware that kids fighting cancer don’t have the same luxury. There is no one to take the baton from them as they have a grueling battle of their own. We ran to raise awareness and funding for these kids that have the strength and endurance we hope to achieve. This money will go to fund innovative research and help families ease the financial burden.
